Seven Weeks and a trip to the doctor

We missed six weeks altogether. Sorry about that. There is never a dull moment. As we get ready for the holidays we took Charlie in for his two month appointment a bit early (two months would be Christmas Day). He has grown like a weed. He is already 14 lb. and 2 oz. He is also over 23 inches long. All of this means he is over the 90th percentile in all categories and wearing 6 month clothing. Like I said growing like a weed. Izzy is also growing and she is a great big sister. She loves to help and kiss her brother. Happy Holidays to all![gallery link="file" order="DESC" columns="2"]

A new car, Santa and Five Weeks

We have had a busy week around here. Charlie was less than thrilled with my taking his picture, but he put up with it. We got a new car on Tuesday. We needed to have enough room to have all five of us (the dog too) in the car along with belongings. We are thrilled with it and still figuring out all that it can do. We also had a special treat today. We went to see Santa at a yummy brunch. For those of you who don't know, Izzy has had her Santa issues. She screamed last year and was showing signs of it this year, but she rallied and decided that he was pretty great after he presented her with a candy cane. "I love Santa!" was heard from the backseat on the way home :)!

Bedtime Stories

[caption id="attachment_143" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Enjoying stories together at bedtime"]Charlie definitely doesn't have as many books read to just him as Izzy did, but he enjoys storytime at night as well. Here they are cuddled up in Izzy's bed listening.[/caption]

Thank you, Four Weeks, Thanksgiving and One Month!

We really loved having Grandma and Granddad here helping out for two weeks. When they went home for Thanksgiving in Atlanta we had our first two days with Scott at work while I was home with both kids...You will note there are no pictures from those days. Who has time? :) Then Granny and Happy came for Thanksgiving. We enjoyed a quiet Turkey Day with lots of good food and football. We are appreciative of all of the help! Charlie also hit the one month mark and so had his first penguin picture taken.

Happy comes and 3 Weeks along with a pirate

Charlie met his fourth grandparent this weekend and we are finally getting the pictures posted. Life is certainly busy with two and I am not sure how it all gets done with two once the grandparents leave. We have also included a few other fun pictures from the week including our matching children this morning.

Thank you and Week 2 Catch-up photos

We had a changing of the guards last weekend. We said good-bye to Granny Ashe who had been here since Charlie was born and welcomed Grandma and Grandpa Wood. We appreciate all of the grandparent help and support and look forward to the arrival of Happy Ashe this weekend to meet our new little one. Between a little boy who likes to sleep no more than 2-2 1/2 hours and an active toddler I am not sure how we would be doing it without help.  Charlie is growing well and has made it to 10 lbs and 22.5 inches already. The doctor was thrilled with his weight gain and said we no longer need to wake him to eat...Now we are just hoping someone shares that information with him. :) Here are some pictures since our last post. Sorry to be so slow about it.

Catch-up Pictures

We have had a lot of fun and activity lately. Scott took Izzy to the zoo for Halloween and we have had lots of visitors to meet Charlie and make his sister feel special. We are sorry we are slow to post. We also had Charlie's first bath and pumpkin carving and somewhere in there Charlie hit the one week mark. Enjoy!

I have been lucky enough to have several visitors other than my big sister while I have been here. I am looking forward to meeting more people once I get out!

Heading home

We are headed home tomorrow with a sore but happy mommy and an adorable little boy who has turned the tide and is back to gaining weight. We are thrilled and daunted to be so close to doing it without the professional help. We are very appreciative of the wonderful staff at Holy Cross.

Hanging out getting ready

[caption id="attachment_27" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Girls just want to have fun!"][/caption]

Izzy and I have been enjoying hanging out together. I am savoring my last few moments with one child. We have a good time even though right now it involves hanging out calmly. We were playing the camera on the computer. Sorry for the funny flash lighting.

Songs for my kids

So with each child we have chosen to find out the gender. Interestingly each time before the fateful 20 week sonogram there has been a song I found myself playing a lot. Both in hindsight proved correct.  For Izzy it was Carrie Underwood's "All American Girl" and this time is was Brad Paisley's "Anything Like Me."

Meet Izzy

[caption id="attachment_18" align="alignnone" width="168" caption="Our Daughter Izzy with the Family Penguin"]T[/caption]

This is our daughter Izzy. You can read all about her adventures so far at her blog see the side bar. We have a penguin thing so we measure our children against a stuffed penguin. Here is Izzy next to the penguin at one month.
